HeBu Music

Company History

After graduating at Berklee College of Music in Boston Kurt Maas was looking for a possibility to get hold of jazz music sheets for his teaching activity in jazz pedagogy. In 1969 he founded an order service in Munich which grew into one of the most distinguished shops for jazz music sheets in Europe. Being specialised in American music sheets the order service was from the beginning interesting for many musicians as such articles were hard to come by in Germany.

Demand for American music sheets grew also through new customer groups besides professional musicians, for example teachers and music groups at schools. The company quickly gained a reputation outside the jazz scene for providing a wide range of excellent arrangements and fresh approaches to popular classics for big bands, choirs and orchestras.

In 2001 the company went online and created the brand alle-noten (German for "all music sheets"). From the start the website was a hit with music lovers in all of Europe and gains new customers from all over the globe every day.
